Data sources
Search indexes site tool routes and may call the same geocoding stack (LocationIQ / Nominatim) when looking up places. Basemap attribution remains MapFirst.
Frequently asked questions
Can I search by coordinates?
Yes. Paste latitude and longitude (WGS84) or open the geocoding / reverse geocoding tools and enter coordinates there for a full reverse lookup.
Why did my place search return nothing?
Try a more specific place name, include a city or country, and check spelling. Remote or unofficial place names may not exist in OpenStreetMap-derived geocoders.
Is search language aware?
Yes. The UI language preference is sent to geocoding APIs as Accept-Language so results prefer names in your selected language when available.
Does search store my queries?
Queries may be processed by geocoding providers and short-lived server cache. See the Privacy page for what is transmitted and how to clear local history.
